21 November 2011, Monday
I took my sweetheart today to meet with Oncologist, Dr. Carl Gray. The test results from the Mayo Clinic suggest that Sherie has Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) of the uterus. It's a fairly rare form of soft tissue cancer. Interestingly, none of the normal tests that are usually taken would have identified this cancer. The clinic suggested it was a high grade, that is, more aggressive, although the radiologist who first looked at it believed it was low grade. Dr. Gray said she may have had the cancer for a couple years.
Dr. Gray thought that our first line of treatment would be to take care of the soreness in Sherie's leg and back. He gave her some steroid pills today and scheduled us to meet with the radiologist for radiation treatments next Monday. The second effort would likely be chemotherapy. Surgery is not an option at this point.
Sherie and I, with the encouragement of Dr. Gray, will be seeing a second Oncologist tomorrow. Grandpa (Sherie's father) arranged the appointment through his long time friend, Dr. David Burton. We will let you know of any further information we receive after tomorrows visit. We love you all and are grateful for your prayers of faith! Be of good cheer! :)

Our hearts and thoughts continue to be with you.. Sherie, and all of the family.
We love you much.... and are grateful for these updates... .♥
I am numb, but I know without a doubt that despite "opinions to the contrary", Sherie can and will be healed if it is the Lord's will. We will pray for that outcome - but if not - we will still believe.
